The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree

I have created a monster.

Let me back up a bit... I love shoes. I have loved shoes since I was a teenager. I remember for my 16th birthday asking my dad for a pair of Doc Marten boots. Originally, he thought it was a reasonable request, until he realized I was requesting a $110 pair of boots.

Ultimately, (being a Daddy's girl and all that jazz) I won the great Doc Marten debate, and I received said boots for my birthday. To this day I like to remind my dad of his fabulous investment, as I still have the boots and they are in great condition...

Anywho... Back to creating a monster...

Because I have a great appreciation for shoes, I have never been one to say no to buying cool shoes for my kids. My daughter has identified this weakness kindness and in turn has developed a fondness for very. expensive. shoes.

Fortunately I recently discovered Become.com. It is a fast and easy comparative shopping sight that offers access to a wide variety of goods. Today we were able to scope out several options for new Osiris shoes. Seeing so many pages of shoes in one place gave my daughter a great idea as to which pair of shoes she would like this fall.

I also happened to find great deals on Chacos flip flops, which might be really nice for all of the walking I will be doing on the Big Fat Family Road Trip...

Like these incredibly cute ones in my favorite color.

Shoes are the only thing I can wear that don't make me feel self concious about the way I look. Shoes are awesome, and Doc Martines rock!

I have a serious 'issue' with shoes myself (My husband's term). He has me on a no net gain level. He claims he can sense when I've gotten a new pair, even if I keep them stashed away for a few days because I get a certain glow about me when I get new shoes. So, for every pair I get, I have to get rid of a pair. No Net Gain.

My daughter has inherited this gene from me. And it's funny, if she wants a pair of Keenes or new converse, daddy says okay. She's not on the net gain plan yet, as she grows through them all....
