From the Bar...

So, you may or may not know this about me, but since being laid off from a real job in April 2008, I have been bartending part time.  Let me tell you a few things about bartending....  First, it is so NOT glamorous.  My poor hands are a wreck from opening bottles, washing them hundreds of times during the shift, etc.  In addition, there is nothing glamorous about pouring drinks for irritating people that over-indulge nightly and think I truly give a shit about their daily lives.  (Having said that, there are also a bunch of regulars that I love and look forward to seeing!)

Second, what's glamorous about coming home smelling like beer?  Nothing.  Nothing at all.

And C - Damn, my feet hurt from standing all night.  I am confident my skills would be much better utilized with my ass planted in a chair and my mouth spouting some snarky nonsense to my belligerent children that don't listen anyway...

BUT, the reason for this post isn't to complain about my rock n' roll lifestyle (or lack there of), it's for my girlz and their wicked tini habits...

So my friends, here are a few recipes I've got up my sleeve that I would like to share.  Enjoy, indulge, and girlz, quit teasing me with all those pictures of your yummy beverages while I'm busy making them for everyone BUT me!  (*twinge of jealousy*)

Bermuda Triangle
2 oz. Kilo Kai spiced rum
1 oz peach schnapps
1 oz orange juice

Shake well over ice, serve in chilled martini glass with sugared rim, garnish with an orange slice

Flirtini
1 oz raspberry vodka
1 oz orange liquer
1 oz lemon vodka
.5 oz cranberry juice
.5 oz pineapple juice

Shake well over ice, serve in chilled martini glass with sugared rim, garnish with pineapple slice

Caramel Apple Martini
1.5 oz vodka
1 oz Apple Pucker
.5 oz triple sec
dash of sweet and sour

Shake well over ice, serve in chilled martini glass lined with caramel sauce

Well that's it for now, kids!  I do have a couple o' pals that asked about low-sugar tinis, soooooo  imma look into that...

My husband bartends at night (he also has a day job); it's good money but DAMN there are some clueless and rude people out there! I *cringe* hearing the stories he tells me after a shift. I bet being a female bartender gets you some better tips, no?

My would certainly appreciates those low cal, low sugar ones! Tinis tend to be heavy on the calories! DAMNIT!
