Move Over Mike Rowe, I've Got My Own Dirty Jobs Right Here

The new garbage disposal is installed!!!
There are no leaks!
It works!
I did it myself!!!

P.S. Did you know you have to wire the power supply on those yourself?  Unreal!  Who sells an electrical item without a power cord???  Good thing the cord on the broken one works!

P.P.S.  The best way to remove an old, corroded, stuck garbage disposal is to get really frustrated and pissed and then kick it one time really hard.  It comes right off...  It's a bit messy, but it does the trick.

P.P.P.S.  What kind of small handed, super strong circus freak installed my old garbage disposal?  The nuts I had to losen required brute strength and fitting my hands into ridiculously tight spaces.  Talk about irritating.

P.P.P.P.S  I think I would have been far less frustrated if my own personal hover craft (The Boy) would have kept his mouth shut and stayed out of the kitchen.

You know, I actually thought about sharing my disposal experiences but then I thought it might be different in your place or something and I'd look like an idiot. We had to change ours out a few months back. I tried to get hubs to just let me do it but he screamed and yelled until I left the kitchen. What should've been at tops a 30 minute project took almost 2 1/2 hours. HA! He got so pissed when it came time for the cord...he put the whole thing together without wiring the cord, then had to take it apart again...he started screaming about not having the right parts to rewire the cord and I finally just told him to shut the hell up. That all he had to to was match up the colors on the two pieces and VIOLA! power to the disposal.

It was an ordeal...almost as big as hanging our new curtain rods. That's a whole post in and of itself!

So glad you got it up and running :O) And a swift kick to anything is usually a good decision (unless it's a Bull or something). I like to kick. Kicking is therapeutic.

I am truly impressed. Impressed that you installed the garbage disposal. And impressed you didn't wack the kid.

Very, very impressive! We usually have at least one little assistant on every household job. Makes it more interesting to say the least.

Wow! I bow to your superior garbage disposal installation knowledge.

I would have to just give the scraps to the dog if I had to install that on my own.

You so Rock!
My drunken handy-man hooked ours up in about an hour because he was sober, just a little shaky.

Kicking objects is good. Can't fix it, kick it!

Setting the toilet will be a breeze...done that twice myself.

WOW you are amazing! There is no way I could ever do that. I would have hired someone in about 0.5 seconds.

You make all woman-kind proud :)

YOU, my dear, are AMAZING!!! There is no way I could have done what you did. I have no clue about anything mechanical or plumbing or electrical. I'm so glad you got it fixed, and you must be so proud of yourself.
