I have all kinds of good intentions (we all know by now where that gets us, according to my Dad), but always seem to find a reason to not follow through.
The funny thing is, I don't procrastinate on my commitments to others (although, I can be forgetful. It drives BFF bananas!). I only procrastinate on commitments to myself and my home.
It needs to stop!
So, I've decided to compile a list of things I need to accomplish before the ball drops on 12.31.09 and we welcome in 2010. I'm trying to be realistic, here. But sometimes I go overboard. So here it is:
The Before 2009 Ends List 'O Things To Do:
- Find the bar counter top in the kitchen.
- Shampoo carpets
- Get my laundry put away. Don't laugh! It's a muy serious undertaking that I haven't been taking too seriously.
- Get to Chicago to visit Dad, Step-mom, Baby Brother and Fam, Fave Cousin and Fam, and everyone else.
- Clean the laundry room. I will find those dust bunny colonies and wipe them out single handedly. Yes, I'm a force to be reckoned with.
- Beat level 6 on Word Mole. (Shut up. I told you, I'm addicted to my Blackberry!)
- Pick out tile for my kitchen and bathroom.
- Paint vent and outlet covers (that I took down when painting over a year ago) and get them hung.
- Replace the lightbulb in my oven... And the one in the garage, and on my front porch, and in front of the garage, and in The Girl's closet... (If anyone has any recommendations for how to get broken bulbs out of sockets, I'm all ears!)
- Get through the Flylady's Holiday Control Journal in one piece.

Cut a potato in half and shove it on to the light bulb, then twist :)
Thanks for following my blog. I'm so much like you on this. I always come through on commitments to other people, but when it comes to myself, I always fall short. Your list does seem a little ambitious, but I think as long as you make a schedule for it, you can do it. You have 3 months, and I'll be cheering for you !
awww... someone beat me to it. A potatoe. It's the bomb.
As always, great post. Procrastination... well, I swear I'm the queen (when it comes to housework, at least)
Good luck with your to do list....
I've been meaning to make one as well, but.... I'll do it tomorrow. LOL

Third on the potato. On the procrastination thing you might want to take a look at Eat the Frog by Brian Tracey.
Thanks so much for the potato suggestion. I'll try it. As soon as I buy potatoes and lightbulbs! Hahahahaha! Kidding! (Kinda...)
@ Drahdrah - I need all the support I can get! Thanks!
@ Mike - headed there now...
@ The girl w/ the flour in her hair - it's so much easier to bitch than do it... I'll be watching for your list!
I definitely wish you luck:-) I am new to your blog... I am following you from MBC Follow Me Club 2...

I say get a housekeeper. That will clear off your calendar a bit.
If you can find one that does laundry...better.
Oh you could have been writing the post about me!!! My washing is either on the line, in the washing machine or in a basket somewhere - anywhere but in the wardrobe!!!
My kitchen top is dumping ground and I have decided the only way to deal with dust bunnies is to become their friend...
I love the laundry line. I wrote a to-do list a few weeks ago. I just found it, and things like "laundry" and "return library books" are still on my freaking list. They're neverending chores. Ugh.
LOVE Flylady!!! I have been doing the Holiday Control Journal for many years now! Good luck with your list!
You can do it momma!!
Just keep at it, and reward yourself with something when you're done.
That always keeps me focused.
Love your blog.....am following along now : )
