For years I have looked in envy at those who worked a "normal" job.
Having spent the last four years behind a bar, I raraely had a weekend off.
While I enjoyed the guilty pleasure of grocery shopping on a Monday morning, sans crowd, I often longed to be home at night with my unruly children or to enjoy a Friday night happy hour with the girls.
A month ago I took a leap of faith.
I put in my notice at the bar. I began sending out resumes. I went on several interviews.
The time on my notice was coming to an end. I had been searching for a new job for a month with no luck.
Saturday night was my last night at the bar and today I start a new job.
While I'm not going to use this space to discuss my new livelihood, I am going to say how stoked I am to be working a Monday - Friday gig! This week I will be training in a couple of different offices. Next week I hit the ground running!
I am so excited for the new direction my life is taking! I decided to take a leap of faith and I am thrilled with the direction it's going!

Congrats! I always fall back on waitressing. I still don't make nearly the money working in an office I made bartending and waitressing, but the hours are saner. I do miss it sometimes....
