Great idea, but I'm already involved in a similar program in my local area - the local ReUseIt group is collecting coats as well as Christmas wish list items, for needy families.
Our church is the drop off site for the first annual coat drive in our little town. So excited that they are doing this. I hope a lot of people join you!
Good for you Momma! I wish you all the luck in the world with this great cause! I hope more American readers jump in and help out with this! (I am Canadian but participate in our local coats for kids program. Our city has collected 1000 coats so far!!)
New follower, think I came over from a hop, love being able to scout out other sites ... and make new friends. The post it notes are awesome, now to figure out how to do them ... technically challenged moi? (well, on vacation right now too, so may just read them all instead!) We had an awful week over here with the most nasty porn attaching to our computer during my 12 yr olds book research ... friendly warning to all in my blogpost, please take a moment and have a read (and for your future reading pleasure, my posts are not usually so gloomy!)
I am trying to look for something to donate blankets. I have come to terms with the fact that I have a problem with purchasing way more blankets than we need, and it is time to face it by getting rid of some.
I need to find an organization that takes them, because yesterday I accidentally offered them to a man waiting for a bus that I mistook for a homeless man. I cannot let that happen again.

My mom Ange said I can do your blog hop, but I am not allowed to read your blog. She helped me make the sticky notes. It is really fun. My name is Dade. I have a blog too. If you want to read it go to www.daderocks.blogspot.com.
What an awesome way to use the power of the blogworld for the greater good! My daughter's girl scout troop has been participating in "One Warm Coat" for the past 3 years, and have collected approx. 200 coats every year that have then been distributed to local people in need. It's one of my favorite charitable organizations.

That is a fantastic idea! I wish I could help, but I am in a position where I am already over-extended!

Like everyone else I'm a little overextended but I will put this out to my people and see if anyone else can take on a project!
